Life as a TEKO student
My name is Sara Constantinescu, but I am usually known as Sara Constance due to my BLOG.
I was born in Romania, but after taking my high-school diploma I decided to apply as an international student in Branding & Marketing at TEKO in Denmark.
Ever since I was a child, I have always been interested in fashion and arts, but later on in my life, I have discovered that I would like to gain a broader knowledge of the fashion industry and really get to know the business around fashion . This is how I eventually chose my current studies, which surprisingly led me into developing a new passion: graphic design & visual communication.
TEKO is definitely a creative and proactively challenging environment to study in so I have no regrets about my study choice. I only look forward to exploring all the opportunities that my school has to offer and to going beyond borders even more, towards new adventures which would challenge my educational experience.
I am a passionate person, that always strives for the best, with a "quality control" sense sometimes pushed to extremes.
I always try to escape from my comfort zone and embrace any challenge that would allow me to evolve on a personal & professional level.
My favourite quote has to be:
“ Only those who attempt the absurd will achieve the impossible. I think it’s in my basement, let me go upstairs and check ” ( M.C. Escher)
Since I have started my university studies at TEKO , I have been involved in several extracurricular activities and organizations focused on the student life:
-
Member of the Student House committee in Birk Campus, where I volunteered as a photographer and organizer of a series of parties and cultural events ( Romanian evening);
-
Member of the Student Activity Association;
-
Member of Videa Herning;
-
Writer & photographer for a university magazine, focused on the student life at TEKO and HIH Herning, called "Focus Student Magazine"
-
Speaker at a workshop on the topic : "Google +". The event was held at TEKO, with 20 attendees. I have talked about the benefits that the platform can bring to a brand. The experience was amazing, but it made me realize how hard it is to be a teacher ! Have a look at my experience and find the presentation HERE !
My blog has also become an important element during my student life at TEKO.
My activity as a photographer and blogger in Herning has started with my first volunteering activity at Campus Festival and has continued throughout my entire educational year:
-
Barbeque Afternoon organized by the tutors of the 1st year international students 2012;
-
GO GO Berlin concert at TEKO;
-
Interview with a Bachelor student in Fashion Design at TEKO, which I created for the 1st issue of Focus Student Magazine.
You can also read my cover article featuring another TEKO student, in the April issue of Focus Student Magazine, HERE !
The May issue of FOCUS student magazine is available HERE ( my article at pag 16 ) .
Below there are some posters I have created within my volunteering activities, which are also relevant for my personal practice within my educational field.
